Are we too good to go down
Anyone who still thinks we are too good to go down has got their head stuck up their rear end.

At the end of the season, you are where you deserve to be, so no.

You excited about that prospect, 97mde?

I remember the thought of playing in the Championship used to make you go moist.

Rumour has it we are after the Seville goalkeeper. Moyes seems to share my doubts about Ariola.

If we continue to play shit in our next two home league games, I can see us being candidates for the drop. I'm sure the Sheffield United fans would just love it if they get promoted and we go down.
Seems Sullivan and co will wait until the end of the year to decide Moyes' fate.

Re: Are we too good to go down
Too many changes at once. We have the same issue Fulham had a couple of seasons ago. Lots of new players, lots of characters have left, people annoyed at losing their place or new players coming in on better money. Poor results and negative atmosphere both in dressing room and around the ground.
Everyone looking for an excuse.
We arent too good to go down but we need leadership and desire to turn it around. Our leader should be Rice but he is more of a leader by example and his own form has suffered in recent weeks. Need Ogbonna, Dawson and players like them to stand up and be counted. By all accounts Kehrer is vocal. Maybe others dont like that.

Soucek hasnt been as influential since contract dispute, Bowen was supposed to get new contract after window closed but nothing released. His form has also dipped.

If this team is relegated then it will be the biggest collapse o a side in recent times. I'm thinking mid-table which is a massive under achievement in itself.

Perhaps not good enough to stay up.

Re: Are we too good to go down

We let our team age with limited investment, lack of interest from top players, and a negotiating dwarf who kills any possible deal.

This squad has gone from being pushed hard and working beyond their limits last season, and feeling that strain around Christmas, to one where we have made wholesale changes because we really needed to and have to integrate players.
I also feel losing Noble has lost a lot of that drive that he instilled in the dressing room.
We still lack goals and attacking prowess, not a surprise considering we bought 1 out and out striker.

We won't go down. We genuinely are too big to go down now . There's 7 or 8 in that description and we are one of them . Which is huge progress in itself .

Re: Are we too good to go down
how do we always end uplike this - superb season followed by disastrous season. Chalk followed by Cheese. We were so promising a year ago, and now this. Not saying it does not happen at other clubs but we've made it our hallmark in recent years.

Any how, we are too good to go down and it does look like we are sticking with Moyes but we need to act decisively and soon if Moyes is showing no signs he's pulling it around

Re: Are we too good to go down
No. If we fall too many points behind before Moyes is sacked and no guarantee the new manager will be able to come in a get this disorganised, unmotivated rabble to work together.

it's a big worry.

Yes - We are too good to go down.

But you already answered your own question so I won't bother saying why.

Re: Are we too good to go down
Yes, but if the board do sack him, will they bring in the right manager? I've always criticized them for lurching from one managerial style to its opposite, requiring a complete change in team personnel to suit the new manager. This time if they do that it might actually work to our benefit, seeing as the likes of Paqueta and Scammaca are clearly not suited to Moyes' preferred style of play.

We won’t go down because GSBK will sack him if results keep going away from us

Definitely not too good to go down.

Still early days, anything from top 6, mid table security or relegation is easily feasible.

Re: Are we too good to go down
Listened to the Athletic podcast and they're right. Thanks seqsoj has tremendous parallels to the Tevez and Mascherano season.

Cup Final, close knit side, untouchable Pardew, world class reinforcements that can't get in the side, and it all went sour.

I think if we get to 10 to 15 games in the bottom 3, you'll have a gap, disaffected and down on confidence players, focus lost and minds wandering, and at that stage anything can help. Self doubt is a powerful force.

We're not too good to go down. We have a squad which SHOULD be too good to go down, or even finish 11 and down. Moyes has lost the plot completely, and the whole club is suffering for it.

Absolute no chance of going down . As soon as we dispense with Moyes and we will . No matter what that God awful site claims . We will pick up massively.

Not a hope in hell of going down, poor season with late surge?
Yep
We are a good team, Everton was the only game I was really fucked off at losing because there was no excuse
